Screen Sharing a Game on TikTok LIVE
There are two main methods, depending on whether the game is on a phone or on a PC/console.
Mobile
PC / Console
1) Mobile game (direct from your phone)
This works if the game is installed on the same device you’re going LIVE from.
How to do it:
- Open the TikTok app
- Tap + in the middle of the lower menu
- Swipe to LIVE
- Tap Mobile Gaming (or Screen depending on region)
- Add a LIVE title
- Tap Go LIVE
- Confirm screen recording permission
TikTok will now broadcast your entire phone screen.
Tips:
- Plug in power for long streams
- Enable Do Not Disturb
- Disable notifications
- Lock screen orientation
- Use headphones to avoid echo
- Use a phone cooler if needed
2) PC or console game
If the game is on a PC, PS5, Xbox, etc., you must route gameplay into TikTok.
Option A: TikTok LIVE Studio (best quality)
- Install TikTok LIVE Studio on PC
- Capture gameplay directly
- Add webcam + mic overlays
- Stream directly to TikTok
Best for:
- Clean overlays
- Alerts and scenes
- Serious gaming creators
Option B: Capture card + phone
Equipment needed:
- HDMI capture card (USB)
- HDMI cable
- USB-C adapter for your phone (if needed)
Setup: Console/PC → HDMI → Capture Card → Phone
Note: Not all regions support external capture on mobile. LIVE Studio is more reliable.
Important requirements
- You must have LIVE access (often 1,000 followers minimum).
- Some regions require Gaming LIVE approval.
- Stable Wi‑Fi (10 Mbps upload recommended).
Audio setup tips
- Use a headset mic for commentary.
- If streaming mobile gameplay, enable internal audio.
- Avoid speaker playback (echo).
